About us
Monkey Nest is a neighborhood coffee shop in North Austin that been open since 2012. Our coffee is organic and locally roasted. We brew a variety of beans from different origins every day. We prepare our tacos and offer homemade baked goods.
Monkey Nest Coffee has been part of Austin’s heartbeat since 2011, holding on tight to the city’s old-school, laid-back and unique vibe. We’re just a group of friends who fell in love with this place and decided to carry its soul forward.
For us, coffee is more than a drink—it’s a ritual, a spark for conversations, and the reason strangers become friends across our tables. We couldn’t be prouder to keep serving carefully crafted coffee in a space that feels like home.
Our regulars have truly become family, and anything we do will always honor that connection, that warmth, and that Austin spirit.
Paty, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. After working in several restaurants and running her own pastry shop in Mexico City, she discovered her true passion: creating recipes that feel both familiar and unforgettable. At Monkey Nest, she brings that culinary background into everything she bakes, blending comfort and creativity into pastries that taste like home.
After more than 20 years in engineering, Carlos, Charlo as his friends call him, followed his passion for coffee and community. At Monkey Nest Coffee, he rediscovered the joy of connecting with people, serving customers, and seeing the simple happiness a great cup of coffee can bring.
